Pragmatic Enrichment and Some Consequences for Law.
Where: Conference on Language and Law., Center for the Study of Mind in Nature (CSMN), University of Oslo, Norway. When: 23rd June 2008
Co-panelists: Stephen Neale (CUNY), Robyn Carston (UCL), and Jed Lewinsohn (NYU).
The aim of the talk was to show that even if pragmatic enrichment is as ubiquitous as is often claimed and the legislative environment is as riddled with problems concerning context and conversational principles as is equally often claimed, the notion of a well-functioning legal system is not under threat.
